Some members of the Brethren of the Coast, a brotherhood of pirates and privateers, have even taken to calling the island Blood Island, in grim honor of the countless murders that have supposedly taken place on its shores. Even the sands of the beaches are stained a rusty red, though it is only sailing superstition that says it is from blood. Setting foot on the island is enough to drive a man to madness, some claim. To be marooned on this island is one of the worst fates imaginable, which is why the rumor that the fabled Captain Lowe buried hidden treasure on this island so curious.
