Journey from a plain Sterling Silver band to your own Hammer Patterned Ring. This is a basic hands-on course in the goldsmithing techniques of hammer texturing and the use of polishing papers. Learn about the array of patterns and patterning hammers (and how jewelers make custom patterning hammers). A discussion of how jewelers create band rings, and where you can source rings for texturing will be included. This is a unique opportunity to learn goldsmithing and silver working from two jewelers. Marc is a classically trained professional bench jeweler and goldsmith. Robert is a part-time home studio jeweler. Flat band rings will be pre-fabricated ahead of time to give you ample time to complete your ring. No previous skill is necessary.
