Darkness and shadow blanket The Western Kingdoms, and Holy War rages in the East. Those who hold sway over the lands call for the services of mercenaries, sell swords, and free soldiers to deal with the terrors that now plague their people. At the foot of the majestic Dragon’s Spine Mountains lies a town of middling size called Dragon’s Claw. It is a small trading town on the banks of The Thorn Tail River, serving as a starting point for travel into the mountains. At the top of the closest peak is a small village, called Black Horn. Known for its scenic overlooks, snow sports and fine mead, it is a popular holiday location for nobles and wealthy merchants from all around. In the middle of the night, the head clergyman from the village of Black Horn was discovered wandering and incoherent among the streets of Dragon’s Claw, shortly before losing consciousness. The local highway patrolmen have gathered at the first ranger station north of Dragon’s Claw, concerned that this clergyman had arrived unnoticed and unannounced while they were on duty. Concurrently, the Sheriff has requested that your group — recently-hired free-soldiers —report to the Iron Horn Inn, at the request if its proprietor.
