Ghosts of the fallen giants of history haunt these mountainous peaks and desolate valleys: Alexander the Great, the Mauryans, the Kabul Shahi, the Arabs, the Mongols, the Timurids. In times of war, when men turn upon themselves, Delta Green is drawn to the world’s hollow and forgotten places. The history of Afghanistan traces back through the centuries to the Crusades, to the prophets Muhammad and Jesus, to the Great Enlightened Indian civilizations, to the misty dawn of Buddhism. To this day there are remote valleys that have never known a road. Places with no names and no purpose, but some families still recall the old secrets, the lost paths.
