Fleeing from the Enemies of Humankind, the Ssu, you have found yourself in a strange, oddly-angled place, where a large metallic globe hangs in mid-air over a dark circular chasm. One of your party recognizes it as a device of the Ancients, which you might use to escape the Underworld. The only questions that remain are: where will you end up, and will you ever get home?

This is an intermediate-level adventure for Empire of the Petal Throne, and the World of Tekumel, for characters of 3rd and 4th level. Inspired by Meso-American, Indian, and Arabic mythologies, Tekumel is a “sword-and-planet” setting, where powerful technology survives in a post-cataclysmic world. Humans co-exist with non-humans from many different star systems, all cut off from Tekumel in the far past. Now, magic and gods can affect the outcomes of any adventure, but the possibilities are truly unknown! Originally produced by TSR in 1975, Empire of the Petal Throne was the second tabletop roleplaying game ever published, and the first one with an integrated complete setting.
