As the wintry cycle of Hyperborea nears its spring thaw, your adventuring group has been restless and wishing to explore. A roving band of nomads has told you about one king named Sigurd Halvdane and his legacy. Towering over men and a fearsome opponent on the battlefield, Sigurd commanded attention and ultimately respect. When he fell his surviving followers laid him in a magnificent tomb complete with monuments to honor his legacy. This giant of a man (both in stature as well as in tales) has intrigued the natives of this area but they are fearful. Upon hearing the stories and exploits of this king of the past, you are informed of the fact that the melting ice sheets has revealed his resting place and much like the legends of the lifetime of this king, so too is the tales of his treasure hoard. Does a long dead king live up to all the tales told by skalds and sages? What could you unearth in the hoary crypt? Is this giant among men worthy of the tales told about him? You have determined to try and find out and claim his winnings and glory for your own!
