Board games provide many things that we are used to: Entertainment, strategy etc.. However, what if I were to tell you that playing board games can provide a positive impact in learning spaces to promote emotional wellness with your students? Social Emotional Learning is being embedded into daily instruction building positive conditions for learning that foster well-being and resilience in both students and educators. It is most commonly supported in core subjects (Math, ELA, etc.) but have you ever thought about how the SEL can be taught through a board game?! During this workshop, you will learn about what the Social Emotional Learning process is, how we can incorporate into all educational subjects learning spaces at home in the classroom as well as other spaces like libraries and workplaces too!
